“ I've been to this restaurant twice, and the first time I tried their renowned Peking Duck. It's one of the best I've had in the Bay Area, reminding me of home, and the price is very reasonable compared to other places offering the same dish. Their silken tofu soup, a popular breakfast item, is also incredibly authentic, as is the cold noodles dish. However, we enjoyed the dishes from our second visit a bit less. The lamb dish was somewhat disappointing, particularly because the lamb was machine-sliced thin. The more authentic and superior version would feature thicker, hand-cut slices. On the other hand, I was impressed by the sweet and sour Squirrel Fish dish. It's a challenging dish to execute due to the intricate knife work required to achieve the distinctive look, and this is the first restaurant outside China that has managed to present it authentically. I'll definitely return to try more dishes, especially the Beijing-style hot pot. Many of the flavors evoke a deep sense of nostalgia and remind me of home. ”

“ I will say this with my entire chest: Best Chinese Restaurant Ever I have been to a lot of chinese restaurants as a chinese person who grew up in the city so it takes a LOT to impress me. Usually I will like one or two dishes from each chinese restaurant I go to but here - I liked (almost) everything. Peking Duck: to get an entire Peking duck, you need to order ahead! They do it Beijing style where it's not the fluffy white bread but rather something closer to a very thin wrap, like rice paper. If you ordered the entire Peking duck, they'll ask you what you want to do with the bones. You can either fry them or make a soup. I will clutch your hands tightly and bore my eyes into yours when I say this: Get the SOUP. Peking Duck (bones) Soup: It is so refreshing and delicious. There is no other way to describe this and it had noodles! Vegetables! And tofu! Speaking of soup: Wonton Soup: what magic do they have on their pots because all their soups are amazing. It's Incredibly flavorful and delicious - I've never had a Chinese soup I've enjoyed so much like the ones I've had here. Sweet and Sour fish: it's one of the more expensive things on the menu but it's delicious. Perfectly sweet and sour and it's fried! I am not a fish person - dare I say, I don't like fish! But MAN! After eating this, I'm afraid I just haven't had fish made for my tastes! Honestly, everything was good EXCEPT: dry fried string beans. If you stalk me (which if you do - please stop), you will know that I judge a Chinese restaurant based off of their dry fried string beans and these were just MEH. Well maybe I'd love them more if the other dishes didn't completely blow me away. ”

“ Peking duck and crispy shrimp so good that I came here twice in one month and subsequently gained 5 lbs. Points off for shoddy management of reservation timing (expect to wait up to an hour even if you have a reservation), indifferent service, and according to my friends, not the nicest bathrooms. I've gotten the Peking duck for Thanksgiving takeout twice before but this year was the first time I finally dined in. The takeout duck was good the first time and a bit lackluster the 2nd time. However, both times I've had the duck while dining it, it was good. As other reviewers have pointed out, the skin lacks seasoning but it is one of the consistently crispiest without being fatty and greasy skins I've had. It also comes with sugar that you're supposed to dip the skin into and hoisin sauce for adding to the wraps. The crispy shrimp is another standout dish here. As another friend said, possibly the best shrimp she's ever had. Most of the other food was good. The noodle and dumpling dishes went over well with the kids (and adults) in the group. The griddle cooked spicy tofu and tripe were both good spicy dishes. It's a decently sized space but gets crowded with many people. Parking can be difficult on San Bruno avenue. ”

“ Good Chinese food place! Dishes are very authentic, and very flavourful. The mapo tofu tastes ma but is not too spicy, and the kung pao chicken is very delicious too! I would recommend getting the Black Pepper Angus Beef with Golden Garlic every time. The beef is quite tender and the garlic melts in your mouth. The restaurant is a little outdated but still has a nice atmosphere, especially when the place is full. Service is a bit more hit or miss though. We were forced to move tables halfway through our meal because the staff seated us at a reserved table that was due to be seated in 10 minutes, and acted as though we took too long to eat, even though not all our dishes were served yet. ”
